Searching

  • To just look at independent voices you cant use the top JSTOR or Advanced Search, you have to use the Independent Voices search box in the middle of the homepage
  • Ex: "voting"
  • Refining Results
    • Sort by - oldest - not always accurate by publication date
    • Other filters (subcollections, etc). can't do it from initial search results, you can't do that advanced search from the beginning
  • Article Detail Page
    • Sources are scanned images with metadata and thumbnails of the pictures
    • Probably not full text searchable
    • Click "view 1 search match" in the upper right corner of the image viewer to navigate to the right page of your search term but it doesn't highlight it
    • Open source - has CC license
    • Stable URL in metadata on side column
