The HathiTrust Digital Library includes millions of books, government publications, dissertations, journals, and other published and unpublished materials. Created by a partnership of academic and research institutions, the Library offers materials digitized from collections in libraries around the world and including a wide range of languages. Titles published prior to 1923 and those that are open access or Creative Commons-licensed are available full-text. Other materials include limited-access searching.
The Open Textbook Library (OTL) is a project of the Open Education Network, of which FHSU is a member. To be included in the OTL, an open textbook must be affiliated with a university, scholarly society, or professional organization OR currently be in use at multiple institutions. Books in the OTL are peer reviewed and allow editing, and most of them are available in multiple formats. The OTL also includes books from OpenStax, a popular open textbook publisher.
The Pressbooks Directory provides an index of open textbooks created using the Wordpress-based Pressbooks authoring platform. Pressbooks are easy to edit and can be exported in a number of common formats for readers, including PDF, epub, and Kindle .mobi.
