Using EBSCOhost eBook Collection

Click the link below to access the EBSCOhost eBook Collection database. The tutorials and information on this page will help you learn to use the various features and functions of the database.


Search Tips

There are several ways to browse through this collection: search and refine results or browse categories and featured books on the homepage.

  • Use the "select a field" dropdown option to specify whether your keywords are intending to search all text, title, author, subject, etc.
  • Use quotations to search “exact words”
  • Add additional keywords using all 3 boxes and connect them using (AND, OR, NOT) dropdowns and use the +/- button to add additional keywords
  • Use additional filters to narrow by publication date, subject, publisher, language, or category

Finding an eBook

  1. Type in a keyword like "business management"
  2. On the results list, you can refine your results by the filters on the left hand side
  3. Books may be available in PDF Full Text and/or EPUB Full Text
  4. View the table of contents from the Table of Contents link under each book
    • Chapters with a plus sign can also be expanded further
    • Click on the chapter’s hyperlink to go directly to that chapter

eBook Detail Page

Clicking on the book's title takes you to a page with additional details about the book, including ways to access the e-book, and tools to use to save, cite, and share the book. Any use limitations will also be noted on this page (how many concurrent users can access the book, how many pages a user can print/email/save, etc.).

Reading an eBook

The e-books from EBSCOhost eBook Collection can be read directly on your computer.

  • Click on the book title you want to read
  • Click on PDF Full Text or EPUB Full Text to open the eBook
  • Use the table of contents on the left side to navigate to a particular chapter or use the "search within" feature to search keywords or concepts within the text of the eBook
