You can use citations listed in a reference list of a relevant article to find additional useful articles (tracing backward for earlier articles). For example, this article:

To locate an article, search for the title in the search box on the library's homepage. Use Interlibrary Loan if we don't have it.
If you find a relevant article that is too old, you can find out what newer articles cited it, using Google Scholar (tracing forward) since a citing article is often about a similar topic. For example:
