Tips for Searching Google

The ag ed lesson repositories above may not have everything you're looking for, so you may need to go out to Google. Use the tips below for stronger search strategies for finding lesson planning materials.

  1. Search keyword(s) + Type of File: Specify PDF, PPT, DOC files to find instructional slides, handouts, worksheets, reports or publications
    EX: beef cattle filetype:ppt

  2. Search a keyword + Specific website or domain: Search any webpage relating to the keyword on a specific site. You could be more vague and just use site:.edu or site:.org or site:.gov
    EX: alfalfa site:ksre.k-state.edu

  3. “Use Quotations Around Phrases”
    EX: "integrated pest management"
